Black Rainbow Movement focuses on creating solutions for people at the intersection of queerness and race. Their mission is to engage with this community, and create spaces for them to celebrate their truths and experiences, be a monument to their history, and above all let them know they matter, have a voice, and that people like them can and do make an impact.
Ballroom culture started with the Harlem Renaissance in New York City, but as Garrell Woods observed, spread beyond New York, becoming an integral part of Black LGBTQ+ culture. Each ball features a carefully curated theme to inspire our contestants. For this event, we're excited to introduce the sweet world of Candy Land.
